What should you expect?

The responsibility of your position within a team and use of equipment. The opportunity of being proud of yourself.

We also promise all committee/trainers and responsible parents are CRB checked, we do bi-annual fire drills, pat test all our electrical equipment, annual sound checks (ensuring the safety of the childrens hearing), risk assesments, we pay performing rights and are fully Insured for legal, accidental and public insurance.

What is expected from you?
Commitment and dedication. Reliability. Family support with training and fund raising. Responsibility to others and equipment. A sensible level of age appropriate behaviour.
Our competition spaces are filled NOT by length of service but by ability, however we do endeavour to put all girls out in fetes, displays and carnivals.

Training Practice

We have a three tier structure for training as follows:..........................
1)Children who wish to do majorettes for exercise/social contact not competition.
2)Children who wish to do majorettes with the commitment of training weekly, attending fetes, displays and carnivals with the proviso that all majorettes 8years or under MUST be accompanied by an adult.
3)Children who wish to do majorettes with the commitment of training weekly, attending fetes, displays, carnivals and competitions with the proviso that all majorettes 8 years or under MUST be accompanied by an adult.
Which Section to choose...........

Tiny Tots.
Ages 3 years to 8 years.
Tiny Tots train on Wednesdays from 5.00pm - 6.30pm at the Heathcoat Community Centre, Kings Street Tiverton, EX16 5JJ
Ages 9 years to 12 years.
Juniors train in Pom Poms, Twirl and Military routines. Junior training is on Thursdays at 5.30pm-8:30pm at the Heathcoat Community Centre, King Street. Tiverton.
Age from 12 years to 20 years
Seniors train in Military, Pom Poms & Twirl routines. They train on Wednesdays  from 6.30pm - 9.30pm at the Heathcoat Community Centre, Tiverton EX16 5JJ
Age over 18
Misfits train in one section, They train Thursdays from 8:30-9:30 at the  Heathcoat Community Centre, King Street. Tiverton.


We do not charge an annual fee however there is a weekly Subscription for training. This helps towards the costs of hiring the Community Centre. Trainers and helpers all give their time free of charge.
There is usually a small charge towards the costs of Coach Travel to competitions and events for parent, Majorettes go free. Batons are ordered in bulk to help reduce the outlay to parents although troupe equipment is provided for training and competition free of charge. There are costs that incur for troupe jackets & T-shirts, however these are always discussed before hand, and all Expenses are kept to a minimum.
As a Community Youth Organisation, we welcome participation within the community at functions such as Fetes, Street Markets, Carnivals and other community events.
All we ask is donation to help towards troupe

Tiverton Town Majorettes have no major sponsorship and have to raise their own funds. Parents and Majorettes work hard throughout the year to help support the troupe.

Tiverton Town Majorettes is a governed youth organisation. All Trainers, active parents and management Committee are CRB checked. We have an active Safeguarding Children Policy as well as Health and Safety, Equal Opportunity, full public liability Insurance and follow a Good Practice Guide.
